My watch recently lost its wrist band. I had been carrying around the watch face in my pack. For the race I wanted a new watch. A couple of stops later and I found an acceptable one for $15 at Rite-Aid. I really wanted to support the local five and dime. Though they sold all kinds kitsch, there were no watches to be had.
For those cheering us on remotely, I'll be posting live updates from race:

I am commenting on the post with your friend Greasy.
I will be catching up as I am able.
This was so real. I have met some people in this situation and they do not regard themselves as homeless either since they find a roof.
I think the myth that all homeless people live under bridges has got too many people fooled into a kind of insensitivity.
