The live moblogging didn't go so well. Only three videos posted and one was the wrong one. It was an interesting experiment.

By about mile 19 I was still running at a good speed so I ditched the cell phone and motored on in. I ended up setting a new personal record.

2007-04-28

I made it safely to Eugene, OR. Luke picked me up at the airport in a borrowed car. A quick stop at the Hilton to pick up our race packets. We got our race shirts there which is a new one on me. I'm used to having to finish a race before getting my shirt.

My watch recently lost its wrist band. I had been carrying around the watch face in my pack. For the race I wanted a new watch. A couple of stops later and I found an acceptable one for $15 at Rite-Aid. I really wanted to support the local five and dime. Though they sold all kinds kitsch, there were no watches to be had.

A pretty casual evening after a hectic morning of canceled flights and reconfigured travel plans. If anyone is interested in crawling out of bed early tomorrow morning, the race starts at 7am. Luke's number is M848 and mine is M893.

Alaska?

The reaccomodated flight on United was for tomorrow. After a few more phone calls I got it all figured out. I'm leaving via Alaska Airlines via Northwest Airlines via United Airlines via Orbitz.

My flight to Eugene has been cancelled.

I'm leaving on a later flight and still getting in the day before the race. Hope Luke can pick up my race kit for me.

Time 2 Jet
