Driving Snow - 95days til BAA115 by awedjob at Garmin Connect - Details
When it snows, the temperature rises. That made me a bit warmer today and a little happier. The tiny snow flakes smacking me in the face did not make me happy.

97 Days 'til BAA115 by awedjob at Garmin Connect - Details
Stopped off at Mercado Central for some Huevos Rancheros with just 15 min. remaining in my run but man was I hungry. Eat like a peasant. Corn, rice and beans with eggs and cheese. So good.

Countdown App
After looking high and low for close to an hour I finally found a countdown clock that did what I wanted it to. Countdown is a Google Chrome Extension that may not be pretty but it is straight up simple.
I especially like the little clock on the tool bar that shows the number of days remaining. What would be even better is if I could make Google Calendar do it but alas there is no way I could find to achieve this. If there was/is then I would be able to check my calendar from my phone or anywhere and know how many days remained and what day of training I needed to be on.
Life gets busy and I miss a day or two of training. Getting back on track is much easier if I know where to pick back up again. This little gem will help me do that with ease. Thank you Mermin for making it.

100 Days Until BAA115
I'm about to head out for a training run as I get ready for the 115th Boston Marathon. There's 100 days until race day. I've been slacking something serious but no more. Cold weather be damned. Even if it is 4°F/-16°C, the sun is shining and I feel good.
Not sure how long I will be out. I'm thinking 90 minutes. Don't have a specific time because I haven't charted out my training schedule. This far out I'm sure it won't matter a whole lot. So long as I am smart about my pace and keep my feet under me I should be alright.
I've got Qik on my phone so recording and posting videos will be MUCH easier than the last time I did this sort of thing.

Monsieur Roy
Monsieur Roy from AwedJob on Vimeo.
I created a poem, with an unusual rhyme scheme, about a man named Roy G. Biv. He was supposed to be color blind but ended up being French and possessing a magical paint brush.
If you can't understand the French accented reading of the poem, here's the text:
Monsier Roy

Roy Goulet Biviolet
likes to play with color
without this feast
of visual treats
Life would be much duller
Violet, orange, indigo
blue and green, red, yellow
stroke of the brush
on canvas arrive
gray sights now begin to thrive
I love to create, have fun
Shouts Roy, Ah! J'aime cre'er
blank circle hung
in heavenly sphere
Roy splashes juane in there
Barren banks and plain Garonne
Toulouse townspeople wept
Monsieur Roy drew
with magical pen
violettes as they slept
One favour more they asked him
to do before he goes
colour these bricks
'tis why we call them
the name La Ville Rose

Search
Search from AwedJob on Vimeo.
I recorded this audio commentary in September, 2004. It details my life long search for my first mother, my biological mother. I dusted it off for Ze's Story Project and created a short video introduction for it yesterday.
This little audio project was a big step towards creating my first documentary film, Building at a Crossroads.
The thumbnail for this video is a photo of the vacant lot where the Willows Hospital used to be. It was taken in 1984 by Judee Rasmussen, fifteen years after the Willows closed. Today there's a hotel on the site.

Human Condition
Human Condition from AwedJob on Vimeo.
This video is in response to Dave's video here. Both are contributions to Ze Frank's project of telling each other stories while the WGA is on strike.
Dave's been talking about the Male Condition in his last two videos. That got me to wondering if it's uniquely a male condition just because a man does it. Also I wondered whether or not we could alter the seemingly inevitable "bleeding out in a muddy field" conclusion.

Happy Birthday, Baby
Many thanks to all my friends from the ORG for this heartfelt video. "Daisy" is sure to enjoy it. Only a few more weeks and her eyes will be able to focus.

What's Your N.Q.?
As all the Sports Racers converge on Chicago this coming March, one question is ever present. "What's Your N.Q.?" Tell the QuackerCon Planning Committee what your N.Q. is in 50 words or less and you could be selected to present at the conference.
Add your text, spreadsheet, presentation, pictures, audio, or video to the "What's Your N.Q.?" project in the ORG. We'll vote between now and October 21st. The top 5 vote getters receive an opportunity to present at QuackerCon 2008 in Chicago, IL!
